Say what you will for the general state of the world, but 2021 has been a great year if you love trucks. Every major truck brand is bringing its absolute best to the table, and that’s resulted in some great new features that should become staples of pickups from 2021 on.
Look, ma! No hands! General Motors and Ford are leading the charge with trucks that can drive themselves thanks to new hands-free technology. The upcoming 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 Denali both offer Super Cruise™, GM’s hands-free tech that now offers towing functionality. Ford, of course, launched BlueCruise with its all-new F-150 and will offer its hands-free tech on the upcoming F-150 Lightning.
In addition to the F-150 Lightning, more trucks are exploring electrified powertrains. Toyota is the latest to offer a hybrid truck with its powerful new Tundra, which boasts an optional i-FORCE MAX 3.5-liter twin-turbo hybrid V6. And, of course, the all-new, all-electric, and all-incredible GMC HUMMER EV is showing just how amazing EVs can be with up to 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque.
There are so many more cool new features in the truck game in 2021 — from the F-150 and its Pro Power Onboard generator to the Silverado and its six-function Multi-Flex Tailgate to the Ram TRX and its insane supercharged capabilities. When you want to see the best of what’s good when it comes to trucks, look nowhere else in St. Cloud but Your Minnesota Truck Headquarters.
